A two-day International Women Business Summit 2017, organized by Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar, concluded here on Friday. Approximately 200 women from across the country attended the event. The summit featured two days of networking for women entrepreneurs with guest speakers, a panel discussion, B2B meetings and interactive lunch.

The 1st International Women Business Summit (WIB SUM) 2017 held under auspices of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) here at local hotel, in joint collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC), Women Business Development Centre of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, and the Bank of Khyber and other partners.

Besides, a large number of women entrepreneurs, representatives of NGOs, INGOs, officials of Smeda, BoK, and other women organizations, four foreign businesswomen, included Rezani Aziz from Sri Lanka, Zahra Golaiji of Islamic Republic of Iran, Sangita Nirola from Nepal, first female truck driver, Shamim Akhtar, supermodel, Nadia Hussain, Momina Duraid, Zeenat Ahmad, were also participated in the event.

The summit is an opportunity for women entrepreneurs as it provides a platform for sharing experiences and ideas in developing women's leadership and entrepreneurship capacity. The main objective of the event is to inspire, connect, support and empower women in order to bring peace and prosperity in the region. The event culminated with the signing of the Peshawar Declaration that included pledges by eminent speakers and experts attending the summit.

Some of the pledges included Producer and Director Momina Duraid providing script writing opportunities for the women of KP and producing at least two drama serials to help improve the image of women entrepreneurs. Rezani Aziz from Sri Lanka will be promoting master artisans training in gemstones while Masooma Sibtain from FPCCI will be expanding the National Business Agenda for women entrepreneurs to KP. Shamama Arbab, also the Board Member, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development & Management Company (KPEZDMC) thanked the KPEZDMC team and SMEDA for their continued support & facilitating and making this summit a reality.
